Bench Knock Box

Description

A knock box earns its place by being quiet and by staying where you put it. This one has a rubber-collared bar and a weighted base, so the puck drops out on the first knock and the box doesn’t walk across the bench.

• Bar: removable, rubber collar over a steel core — the collar pulls off to wash
• Body: brushed stainless steel, 150 mm across and 100 mm deep
• Holds: about 15 pucks before it wants emptying
• Base: non-slip ring, weighted to 900 g

The inside is one pressed piece with no seam for grounds to pack into, and it rinses under the tap in a few seconds. We’ve had one on the counter in the shop for two years; the collar is on its second replacement and that is the only part that wears. Spare collars are stocked separately. The black finish is powder coat over steel, so a knock that misses leaves a mark rather than a dent.
