Description
A hard shell case for a hand grinder, sized around a 38 mm burr body with the handle detached. The moulded tray holds the grinder upright, the handle lies across the top, and the loose pocket in the lid takes a folded bag of beans or a spare axle screw.
The shell is a stiff moulded plastic with a rubber gasket in the seam, so the case shrugs off the water that gets into a rucksack in the rain. It is not a pressure case and it will not survive being checked into a hold, but it stops the grind adjustment being knocked out of position, which is what usually happens when a grinder travels loose.
Empty the grinder before packing it. Grounds left in the burr chamber turn stale and, in a warm bag, leave an oily film on the tray. The tray lifts out and can be rinsed under the tap; let it dry fully before it goes back in.
Fits our own hand grinder and most 38 mm to 48 mm burr grinders of a similar shape. Measure the body height first if yours has a tall catch cup.
