Description
A brush shaped for the underside of an espresso group: nylon bristles set at an angle in a 45 mm head, on a handle that curves away so your knuckles clear a hot dispersion screen.
The bristles are heat resistant to 120 degrees and stiff enough to shift the ring of grounds that builds up on the gasket. That ring is what makes a portafilter drip down the side after a few weeks of use.
Purge the group first, brush around the gasket while the water is running, then purge again. Ten seconds after every session and you will not need a chemical clean nearly as often.
Dishwasher safe, though the handle prefers the top rack. Replace it once the bristles start to splay, because a soft brush pushes grounds into the screen rather than out of it.
