Description
A coffee canister with a one-way valve in the lid and a silicone gasket in the rim. Press the lid down and the valve lets carbon dioxide out while nothing gets back in, which is what keeps beans tasting the way they did on day four.
The walls are opaque stainless, because light stales coffee almost as fast as air does. A date wheel on the lid turns to the roast date, so you are not guessing from a bag you have already thrown away.
It holds a 500 g bag of beans with room to get a scoop in, or about 350 g of ground coffee. The seal is good enough for the freezer if you have a lot you cannot drink inside a month; decant a portion and let it come back to room temperature sealed.
Hand wash the body, wipe the gasket and keep the valve dry. Do not put it in a dishwasher, because the valve membrane will not survive it.
