Description
A corner mat for tamping: silicone thick enough to take the weight of a tamp without the portafilter slipping, with a raised lip that hooks over the edge of the counter so the mat stays where you put it.
The corner shape is the point. It sits in the angle beside the machine, clear of the drip tray, and it holds a 58 mm basket at the height your wrist wants rather than flat on the worktop. The Grindhaus tampers and distribution tools stand on the flat shelf beside the well, so nothing rolls off between shots.
Food-grade silicone, one piece, 20 by 15 cm. Grounds wipe off with a damp cloth, and the whole mat goes in the dishwasher once a week of milk splashes has built up on it. It does not slide on a wet counter, which is the only test that matters at seven in the morning.
