Description
A glazed stoneware server for filter coffee, thrown thick enough that the walls hold heat instead of shedding it. A brew that leaves the cone at 90 °C is still above 70 °C twenty minutes later, which is the difference between a second cup and a reheated one.
The mouth takes a standard cone dripper or a size two filter holder, and the rim is cut so it pours without dribbling down the side. The handle is set high, where a full server balances.
Care: dishwasher safe, though the unglazed foot ring will darken over the years — that is the clay, not a stain. Do not put it on a hob or a hotplate, because stoneware does not like direct heat and will craze.
Holds 600 ml to the shoulder, comfortably two mugs. Fired at 1,240 °C, food-safe glaze, matt outside and gloss inside.
