Description
A distributor that levels the grounds before the tamp. Three angled wings turn through the top of the bed, break up the clumps a grinder leaves behind, and take away the channel that forms where the dose sits higher on one side.
Depth is set with the hex key in the box: loosen the collar, turn the head to the mark that suits your dose, tighten it again. Most 18 g baskets settle between 3 and 5 mm. Once set, it stays where you left it through a week of service.
The body is stainless steel with a knurled black grip, 58 mm across, so it rests on the basket rim rather than digging into the grounds. Two or three slow turns is the whole technique.
Rinse it under the tap at the end of the day and dry it before it goes back in the drawer. There are no seals and no coating to wear through.
