Description
A six-cup stovetop pot in cast aluminium, in the octagonal shape that spreads heat evenly around the boiler. It holds 350 ml of water below the valve and gives you roughly 300 ml in the cup, which is three small servings or two generous ones.
The safety valve sits above the fill line and is rated to 1.5 bar. The gasket and the filter plate are both replaceable and we keep both in stock, because a moka pot fails at the gasket long before the body gives up.
Fill the boiler to just under the valve with water that is already hot, level the basket without tamping, and keep the heat low. Take it off the hob when the stream turns pale and starts to sputter, then run the base under a cold tap.
Hand wash only, no detergent, and dry it fully before it goes back together. It will not work on an induction hob without a steel adapter plate.
