Description
One hundred size four cone filters for a ten to twelve cup drip machine. Bleached with oxygen rather than chlorine, 100 gsm crepe paper, with the seams double-crimped so a corner does not split when the basket fills.
The crepe texture holds the paper off the wall of the basket and gives the water somewhere to drain, which keeps the bed even. A flat, smooth filter collapses against the cone and channels down one side instead.
Rinse before brewing if you are fussy about paper taste. With oxygen bleaching there is very little to rinse away, but a rinse also preheats the brewer, which is the better reason to do it.
Fold the two seams in opposite directions before you seat the filter. Store the pack flat and dry, because paper takes up whatever else is in the cupboard with it.
