Description
An enamelled steel kettle with a drawn spout, the kind that used to live on a stove rather than in a cupboard. The coat is fired twice, so it takes a knock without chipping through to the metal, and the dark rim hides the marks a camp fire leaves.
The spout pours thin and steady enough for a pour-over, though it is not a gooseneck and will not give you the pencil stream a competition brewer wants. As a first kettle, or in a kitchen where the kettle stays out on the hob, it does both jobs well enough.
Holds 1.2 litres. Gas, electric and induction; the base is flat and thick enough not to warp. Hand wash, and dry it before you put it away — enamel forgives everything except a rusted rim.
