Description
Six 25 g sachets of a food-safe descaler based on lactic and citric acid. Each sachet treats a domestic boiler of up to two litres, so a box covers a year of descaling on medium-hard water at one treatment every two months.
Lactic acid works more slowly than the sulphamic acid in industrial products, and that is deliberate: it dissolves scale without pitting the brass, copper and aluminium a home machine is built from. It is safe on stainless boilers too.
Dissolve one sachet in a litre of warm water, fill the tank, and run it through the group and the steam wand in stages with a 15 minute soak between them. Then flush two full tanks of fresh water before the next coffee.
Check your machine manual first, because a few manufacturers void a warranty for anything but their own descaler. Keep the sachets dry and out of reach of children.
