Description
A stainless dial thermometer sized for the vent hole in a stovetop kettle lid. The stem drops into the water and the dial sits above the lid, so you watch 92 °C arrive instead of guessing at it thirty seconds after the boil.
The face reads 20 to 120 °C in two-degree steps, with the filter brewing band from 88 to 96 marked out. A bimetallic coil drives the needle, so there is no battery and nothing to wake up: it responds in about eight seconds and settles within a degree.
Fitting: the silicone bung compresses into holes between 8 and 12 mm and grips without glue. The stem is 55 mm, which sits below the water line in most kettles once they are half full.
Care: hand wash the stem and keep the dial out of the sink, because the case is sealed but not immersion proof. The bezel turns for calibration against ice water.
