Description
A calibration weight for the scale you have started to doubt. Set it on a cold scale after the tare and you will know in a second whether the reading has drifted, which matters more than people think once a scale has spent a year beside a steam wand.
Turned from stainless steel to class M2, so the tolerance is 30 mg either side of 200 g. That is far tighter than a brewing scale can resolve, which is the whole point of a reference.
It comes in a hinged case with a foam bed and a pair of plastic tweezers. Handle it with those or with a cloth: skin oil adds weight, and it takes a solvent wipe to take that weight back off.
Most scales calibrate by holding the tare button until the display asks for a load. Your manual will say which load it wants; this one covers the 200 g step that nearly all of them use.
