Description
Replacement cartridges for the standard round-neck filter jugs. Activated carbon takes out chlorine and the taste that comes with it, while the ion-exchange resin drops the hardness far enough that a kettle stops furring and a brew stops tasting chalky.
Water is most of what sits in the cup, and it is the cheapest thing in the chain to put right. If your tap water is hard, a fresh cartridge changes the coffee more than a new dripper will.
Use: soak a new cartridge in cold water for fifteen minutes, then pour the first two jugs away — that grey haze is carbon dust and it is harmless, but nobody wants it in a brew. One cartridge handles roughly 150 litres, or about four weeks of ordinary use.
Two cartridges per pack, sealed individually. Keep the spare dry and out of the sun.
